Haptic v. Visual

So I was given the assignment to take one visual photograph and then take one haptic photograph. So I found this lovely little scene on a side street of Rexburg one early overcast morning and snapped the shot. Once I realized how much I loved the color and composition I decided that was to be my visual. Then, to make it haptic I converted it into black and white and decided to add color back into it a different way, so I decided to sew it back in. Took ages, but I think I like the way it turned out!

Color in the Real World

In my color photo class I was given the assignment to find natural color combinations in the world and photograph them. The goal was to get examples of harmony, contrast, and monochromatic. Sounds fun right? Well it was, but much harder than expected. Rexburg in the winter is not the easiest place to find color. Alas, after wracking my brain trying to find stuff, I finally landing upon train graffiti, colorful to the extreme and oddly beautiful. So these are a couple of my favorite images.
